Ngala, South Africa - August 7-10, 1998
Safari. The word means, "travel" in Swahili. Ngala is a private game reserve northeast of Johannesburg in the Lowveld plain in Mpumalanga. It was a one-hour flight to Hoedspruit and then a 45-minute drive due east over mostly dirt roads to get to camp. This is the same camp that Jack Hanna featured on his TV show "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures". Ngala means “place of the lion” in Shangaan. Click on "Map This" to see where in the world Ngala is!
